Direct answer: GetPicTools has moved its EXIF audit step to the beginning of the batch processing pipeline, so sellers can catch GPS residue, incorrect color profiles, and oversized metadata before images ever reach a marketplace upload queue.
Previously, EXIF auditing ran as a final validation pass after resizing, format conversion, and watermarking were already complete. If the audit flagged issues—such as embedded GPS coordinates from a phone camera, an AdobeRGB profile where the marketplace expected sRGB, or bloated metadata blocks exceeding 64 KB—sellers had to restart the entire batch. The updated workflow now performs a lightweight metadata scan the moment images are dropped into the batch tray, presenting a color-coded summary panel before any destructive operations begin.
The new audit panel highlights three categories that cause the most listing rejections on Amazon, Shopify, and Etsy: (1) GPS and location tags that violate marketplace privacy policies, (2) color profiles other than sRGB that trigger automatic color shifts in marketplace thumbnail pipelines, and (3) metadata payloads larger than platform limits, which can cause silent upload failures. Each flagged item shows a one-click fix: strip location tags, convert to sRGB, or trim metadata to a safe size threshold.
Sellers processing hundreds of SKU images per week report that the earlier audit saves 10–15 minutes per batch by eliminating re-processing loops. The feature is available now in the GetPicTools desktop app (v3.8+) and the browser-based batch editor at no additional cost.
