Most teams do not need five separate photo shoots for Amazon, Shopify, TikTok Shop, Etsy, and their own site. They need one clean master image set and a repeatable export routine.
The expensive mistake is treating every channel like a new visual brief. In practice, the product usually stays the same. What changes is the crop, the background rule, the canvas ratio, and how much text or breathing room the platform allows. If you keep reshooting, you are paying for the same object over and over again.
A better workflow starts with one disciplined master set. Shoot the product once in even light. Keep the original files large. Leave margin around the subject so you can crop later without choking the frame. If you need lifestyle images, shoot those separately; do not try to turn a marketplace main image into a hero banner by force.
After that, split the work into exports instead of reshoots. For Amazon, make the product fill most of the frame on a pure white background. For Shopify, keep a little more breathing room so the grid does not feel cramped. For TikTok Shop, test tighter crops because small mobile cards punish wasted space. The product has not changed. Only the framing has.
This is where batch tooling actually earns its keep. Resize in groups. Save named presets. Strip EXIF once at the end, not file by file. Export AVIF or WebP for your own store, but keep a JPEG version around for channels that still behave better with older formats. The boring part is what saves the day later.
One more practical habit: name every export by destination. sku-1042-amazon-main.jpg is better than inal-final-2.jpg. Six weeks later, nobody remembers what final meant.
If your team is small, the goal is not to build the perfect image pipeline. The goal is to stop repeating work that the buyer will never notice. One solid shoot, then many channel-specific exports. That is usually enough.
